Everything about Boombox totally explained

BoomBox is an American rock band, which was founded in 2004 by singer/songwriter Zion Godchaux on the guitar/lead vocals and producer/DJ Russ Randolph on senquencers, groove boxes and turn-tables. The duo met while recording The Heart of Gold Band album “At The Table,” with Zion's mother Donna Jean Godchaux-Mackay, formerly of the Grateful Dead and soon after, formed BoomBox.
BoomBox originates from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, known for producing some of the most revolutionary styles and creative artists in Rock and Roll. BoomBox has incorporated this rich history into their music, allowing for the grand entrance of a greater style and fusion of Rock and Roll, Vintage Psychedelic and House.
The band has played many notable concerts and venues, including appearances at The Oregon Country Fair, The Echo Project and the Wakarusa Music & Camping Festival.
Fans find this unique sound irresistible to the feet and addictive to the senses while BoomBox creates the scene that audiences want. As described by the Kalamazoo Gazette--'BoomBox to bring 'funky, sweaty dance party'.
The duo themselves avoid labeling the music as anything other than "Rock & Roll", expressing that labels would do the music injustice. It's simply left up to each person to extract his or her own account from the BoomBox experience.
